Description
Regulation Rituals® - The Early Childhood Method is a professional learning program that translates contemporary neuroscience, occupational science, sensory processing and developmental research into practical strategies educators can embed into everyday routines, transitions, play experiences and intentional teaching.
Developed by Sally Galloway, Pediatric OT with 16 years of experience supporting children, families and educators, the program strengthens educator capability to support children's emotional regulation, executive functioning, social participation, inclusion, wellbeing and learning outcomes within Early Learning Environments.
Grounded in more than 80 peer-reviewed research studies, educators learn why children respond as they do and how sensory, relational and environmental factors influence behaviour, participation and learning.
At the heart of the program is the concept of rituals. Unlike routines, rituals intentionally create moments of connection, safety, belonging and co-regulation throughout the day. Educators learn how small, repeated interactions strengthen children's regulation, relationships, participation and learning readiness.
Moving beyond behaviour management approaches, the program helps teams create the conditions that support every child to thrive through inclusion, consistency, connection and belonging.
Expected outcomes of this program:
- Improved understanding of emotional development, nervous system regulation and sensory processing in early childhood.
- Improved ability to model and teach emotional regulation and co-regulation strategies.
- Improved ability to support diverse needs through inclusive, sensory-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practices.
- Improved ability to create environments, routines and learning experiences that strengthen children's social participation, executive functioning and learning engagement.
