E-bulletin 12 March 2026
Thank you to everyone who attended our Flying Start Webinar on Friday 6 March. Please refer to the below links for a recap of the information shared during the session.
As always, your OECD Local Team is available to support you with any questions or feedback that you may have regarding the webinar, and provide any support required in the delivery of the Flying Start 3-year-old preschool.
This webinar discussed Workforce and Quality initiatives available to Flying Start partner services including:
- Workforce initiatives, including open grant programs to support your service to improve workforce attraction, retention, and quality
- Quality programs including foundational training requirements.
The next Flying Start partner webinar will be held on Friday 10 April 2026
Flying Start partners can now access two short training modules on Trauma-informed Practice.
The training is designed to support key staff within partnering services to build their understanding of trauma and equip them with practical strategies to respond with care and confidence when engaging with children and families.
The training is available through the online learning platform plink and is self-paced, allowing staff to complete it in one sitting or across multiple sessions. Each module takes around one hour to complete.
All staff required to undertake the training must complete both modules by November 2026. Training completion will be captured through the Preschool Boost reporting processes.
Access the training on plink now.
The training package is one of the foundational training requirements for Flying Start partners, alongside Aboriginal Cultural Safety training.
Led by Tauondi Aboriginal College, the network launch will bring together Aboriginal professionals from partnering services to connect, share practice and learn from one another in a culturally strong, collaborative space.
The network aims to strengthen relationships, celebrate Aboriginal knowledge and professionals delivering Flying Start preschool across South Australia.
The network launch and first meeting will be held on 25 March, from 10:00am to 3:00pm, at Tauondi Aboriginal College.
Invites coming soon.
